What's everyone using for rod/ reel combos out there?

Hey,

Just wondering what everyone out there is using and your opinion. Going to be up dating some of my stuff soon and looking for some suggestions... although pretty happy with the stuff i use already.

Current rigs:

7-0 G-Loomis Muskie calcutta 300TE

7-0 Fenwick HMG AV Heavy with a calcutta 250

6-3 Fenwick HMG AV Heavy jerk bait with calcutta 400b

6-0 Shimano Compre with a Quantum Iron IR-3 <<< beat to shit (80+ fish on it)

I definantly like my Shimano rods and reels. But the Fenwick rods are really nice. Nice and firm, tons of backbone, and very comfortable to throw all day.

I cant say enough about the Calcutta line of reels either. They just hang tough.

The iron and compre has seen it day and is time to go. Stripped gear set, stripped doggy... time for retirement.

Been looking at the Diawa Luna though

thanks

Nice to see the St. Croix's topping the list. They are definitely the best rod on the market! I have pretty much every model made for musky. And a bunch of weights for many other species.

As for reels, I use everything from Shimano Curado Lo-Pro, to Heavy Trinidads. The most common reels in my collection are Calcutta 400TE's and Abu 7000's. This year I got some Avet Lever Drag reels that I am looking forward to putting to the test!

The wife and I both have custom St croix rods in the Avid and premier series blanks. Reels for her are the St. Croix Avid 300 and 250 models and I am using the Abu Records. We also use the Trion (Phluger low profile bass reels for small baits. I love those reels . Kingfisher

Love the long rods for controlling the fish and for figure 8s (especially since im a taller guy)

Special Edition-Zebco SpongeBob Squarepants casting combo. The 36" rod was awesome for figure 8's. Although it was a little rough on the back. Was saddened to learn of a re-call. The paint on the rod and reel contains excessive amounts of lead. Received a refund and will be looking for a replacement.

Krips!

Did you get caught in that recall also?

Been a little worried as I've been nibbling on the reel a little, and I've having trouble remembering my wife's name. Pretty sure I'll remebmer it soon. Pretty nice outfit though!

I've also been using lots of Okuma stuff i think. Just got a couple of 9'-3" rods to try out and if I remember right they seem real nice.
