I been hearing that Fig Rig was bought by a fellow who is going to keep the name "tooth Tamer" and the rods will be like the original Fig Rigs, Anyone know anything about this ?
I have 3 fig's, a M.I. limited, a tooth tamer and a carbon classic, If something happens to one of these rods, Is/ Will the new owner honor the warrantee's or Am I out of several hundred dollars ? I really like these rods and was disappointed when I heard the news that they sold out.

I'd be interested in some contact info for the new owner, too. My dad's Fig Rig (TT) blew up on a fish this summer (see "Rod Breaks on Fish" video on this site) and they are great rods for him given their light weight.

Bill Green from DreamCatcher Bucktails bought the company. The rods are going to change some, A new blank that is still light weight but won't have the breakage problems of the past. He is offering a mail in $55.00 ($45.00 at shows, no shipping) warranty on the old fig rig rods so if you do break one your not out a lot of money. He will send you one of the new Tooth Tamer rods. I have been working with Bill for about 5 years with his Bucktails and his customer service is second to none, We should have the new rods in Bill's booth for George's Musky Expo so stop in and check them out. We will also be at Madison Fishing Expo and Musky Magic in New London but I'm not sure if we will have the new rods ready by then.

I have them and love them, 13 of them im my boat. My clients abuse them and I'm not so easy on them myself. They are super light weight and teamed up with a Shimano Curado they fish easy all day. I have never had a problem with them. There was a run of them that had a breaking problem. Figrig sub contracted some of the rods out and thats when the problem started. Theres no way of telling what rods they are that I know of.

I would steer clear of them. Way too many broken rods. I had one snap with a fitty on. I still landed the fish though;)

I was running Fig Rig for the past 4 years. I had a few break, but they were the problematic 7'10" and the older 8' med hvy. I have about a dozen that have taken as much abuse as can be expected and are still in my line-up. With that said, yes, as John said, Bill has bought the remainder of Kevin's stock, and has changed switched to a matrix blank design to rid his product of the design flaws inherent in the 'old' Fig Rigs. They will be available shortly. The first thing to remember, is that they are no longer Fig Rig rods, and the two should no longer be associated. The Tooth Tamer name will be all that ties them to the old company. Can't wait to give them a run.

Bill is a great guy and has taken very good care us. He makes a fantastic bucktail and I hope to give the new rods a try once he gets them up and running and I need to replace or add a rod.

I got the new Tooth Tamer Rods in my hands today, I think that anyone that was happy with the FigRigs will love this rod. The handle feels the same as the old Tooth Tamers and the rod is still very light weight. The Carbon Matrix blanks feel good. I took a 7' med heavy and casted Bills new baits with it and the rod loaded up good and casted the lures very well. The rods also have a very rich look to them. I have the first rods in my store now and the rest of the dealers should have them in stock within the next 2 weeks. The walleye rods look great also, I think they feel better then the FigRig Carbon Pros that are in my boat right now.
