Its a little off the subject, but, Im looking to get some new raingear. Always took the cheap way out instead of spending the 400 or 500$ on the good shit. Cabellas guideware? Bass Pro 100mph gear? I dont know. Lots of options. What do you like best? $500 is alot of cake these days.

Go with uninsulated Cabela's Guide Wear. The new stuff is awesome. I find the Bass Pro 100mph stuff a little flimsy. The Cabela's stuff, even the model under the guide wear is awesome!

The Game Hide is great stuff as well, but it is a bit stiff.

Like Jerry said, Go with uninsulated Cabela's Guide Wear. I buy it in a bigger size than what I normally wear so I can wear a bunch of warmer stuff under it when it's cold.

Yep, Cabela's uninsulated GuideWear. You'll love it.

I went with the Cabela guidewear bibs ($170) and paired it with a Stearns DryWear rain jacket which was on sale for 50 bucks. I also like a rain proof cap rather than a hood. Cabelas makes a goretex one that is very comfortable and keeps your head dry, but isn't as cumbersome or hot as wearing a hood.

Bargain Cave tips, Jason? Didn't you get a heck of a deal on a rainsuit one time?

Just stay away from the Gander series crap... Damn things leak through the zippers and after awhile, your so wet why bother..

Yeah Mike,
I got a real good deal on the Jacket. Someone returned a color only available by catalog to the store, so since they didn't carry that color in the store, it went right to the bargain cave. Think I got at least 35-40% off...maybe more??? It was a good deal.

The Gander Mtn Pro Series GORE-TEX is awesome. (Same stuff Linder's use) Bibs and Jacket will run you about $350

Thanks to everyone who's commented. Sounds like Cabellas guidewear wins and my wallet loses. I may be broke but at least I wont be broke and soaked this spring! Thanks again.

Agreed... the old Pro Series Goretex stuff they had (red or blue) kicked ass, still where mine!!! HOWEVER... Gander no longer carries these... all they have is their "H2O" (the new version) which happens to SUCK real real realllll bad... wouldnt recommend it at all.

Both BPS 100mph and Cabelas guide wear suits are excellent. I have both and perfer the Cabelas over the BPS, One reason being if you have to hit the head you do not have easy access with the 100mph suit from BPS you have to take it off.
