I got my new musky hunter and the ad for Cortland Master Braid with colour fast caugt my eye.  I have experience with tuff line and Power Pro.  I like Power Pro, but I am interested in trying out out something different.

I prefer Cortland Spectron, because it doesn't fray as much as other superlines in my opinion based on where I fish. I find myself using Power Pro more often than not, because they sell it all over the place. Haven't really had any major issues with either lines. I absolutely hate Tuf-Line though, especially in the winter! It absorbs way to much water. I saw a knot slip with Spiderwire Stealth a couple times. Maybe it was his knot, maybe not :) I wouldn't trust the stuff.

Tufline for me I am trying Cortland spectron on one of my reels. Last year I tried Powerpro and didn't like it as much as the tufline.

I just started using suffix braid last spring and it works great. IT doesn't fray and doesn't hold water.

Cortland Master Braid is my choice. I have used Cortland ever since the dacron and micron eras.
Masterbraid comes in different colors I prefer the Brozeback brown color it seems to blend in with other things in the water such as stain or algae if that matters. It is also a very tough line and casts smoothly. I mostly use 80 pound test. Occassionally 100 pound.

i like Power Pro..65 & 80 lb has worked the best for me..so far no problems what-so-ever. Didnt like Spiderwire Stealth..

What reel will you be putting it on? I find the cortland to work well on garcia reels with the wire levelwind. I find it does not work well with the reels with the hole for the levelwind. other lines are visa versa.

Good tip Todd, I will definately keep that in consideration.

Been using Cortland Masterbraid going on three years now, on my Toro's and Calcutta TE's. Good stuff !!!

I really like Cortland Spectron and Masterbraid Bronzeback the best, but as Todd said other superlines work well but some fade more (Power Pro), some fray (Spectron White Spot), and some carry and hold too much water (Tuf Line) if you fish in the Winter like we do in IL, IN, and KY. I use that and Power Pro on all my rigs with no problems using everything from 80 pound test to 150 pound test.

Just to give you another example, I have spiderwire invisibraidon two penn reels and it works very well. Sucks on my garcias. I do have one penn reel with stealth on it and it's terrible.

This past year I tried Suffix performance braid on a Reel and it seems to do well. I also use Courtland Masterbraid and liked that also. I think it all comes down too personal preference.

i changed to Masterbraid last season. My partner and i bout a 3500 spool.
we are very pleased with it.
less fading, no breaks to present, and seems to repel water longer than anything ive ever used.
so id give it an A+.
i use 80lb.
thanks
