2009 Vermilion Trip

Permalink Reply by JBlanck on September 21, 2009 at 7:22pm: Nothing! One 40 incher caught in the whole resort. Bigman got his a week or so before we went. He was with the MuskieFirst trip to Spring Bay Resort. I would definitely go back. Awesome structure. The fish just reacted bad to the hot calm weather. I even did the 6 PM to 6 AM bite and nothing moved except for a large mouth bass at 3 AM. WHAT?! Even the walleye and smallmouth fishermen weren't seeing anything. There were slow northern follow ups. Ever seen that? WOW! I'd like to go back during the same time period but I'll wait to reserve lodging until I see the weather. I think lodging can be got even on short notice that time of year. Also, I'd like to go back around the begining of August for the summer bite and night bite. Could be awesome. Vermilion Dam Lodge was nice. Kind of in the middle.; ▶ Reply to This
