I have used my stowmaster with one hand while battling a 47" fish. Unfolding it is easy, then stand on the end of the hoop and pull the handle back til it locks in place...you don't have to push any buttons at all to open it. In my opinion small mus…
Mike, no offense taken, my situation is I guide for a living....to feed my family. I have to do whatever it takes to catch fish for clients. I have to troll at certain times of the year or when clients are not able to cast,(handicapped, seniors, and…
Some clients are morons and don't pay attention, I was reeling in a down rod so, I couldn't hear it being at the back of the boat near the outboard and with the music. Also the unit he had was hooked up to a battery operated boom box and it was not…
I don't allow music in the boat when guiding, I want to hear everything that may help us boat a fish. If there are fish busting into bait somewhere behind me I don't want to miss it due to noise in the boat. I did have a client bring a personal musi…
I do not believe there would be as many haters for keeping a world record fish as there are for keeping a huge fish the angler knows isn't a record but keeps anyway. For one thing someone catching and keeping a 70# fish would finally end all the cra…
I have no whitneded it up here in Canada much, but I do fish a lot of places that are protected by mine fields fo rocks, shoals, deadheads and nother prop eating goodies. That lends to unexperienced people not finding their way their. Some of you ha…
It was a while back, I would have to go back and check, the jist of the article/study was that muskies proved to be quite a bit more resilient than ever believed. They were surprised to have nearly 100% survivability regardless of how they were held…
Took Max, a 13 year old(client), out in 2008 by himself, he caught 8 muskies from 30" to 44" in 5 hours with one doubleheader. Additionally he has talked me into fishing some tournaments. In our second attempt, we took 2nd place in the Pewaukee Ironman in 2009 with "big fish" of the day as well....too cool!!

Am really glad that we're thru Dec. and Jan.! This yr., I have a bunch of crazy
new lures to try out...I sincerely didn't know what to call my brand new Perch
rotating tail topwater lures? For sure in Vilas Co. they will be productive! (especially in my shallow bay test area)...Over the weekend I finally figured out a name, for new lures...(Baby Face Nelson-Topwaters!) Isn't that cool...They look real pretty, but, hopefully they'll be dangerous towards the Muskies!
sorry i didnt get to go out with you this year, both of my boats broke down so i had to spend alot of money on that. Then i lost my summer job due to downsizing. I havent gotten to go musky fishing since june!!!!! im going crazy, ive been trying to get out with friends but nothing has worked out.
"other lakes on fire." No kidding, we were on one of those other lakes two Sundays ago and put seven in the boat and lost two. Five were in an hour, biggest a 48.5. Would've went this Sun. but didn't because of the tourny. Will be there next though. Quick question on ur experience with the ciscos spawn on Okauchee. Whats more prevalent, the water temp or the full moon of November?
The Riegel!
I sincerely wanted to do Pewaukee Lake Ironman event! There was another situation
that I couldn't get out of that tied up not only my Sat., but, all day Sun.! But, wow, I
simply love to hear about you as you really put for a lot of effort in catching those
sneaky beasts in Pewaukee! I assure you-that there are worl record fish in there!
One think that you do that is especially cool is, "You think out the Muskie condition
or present situation for the fish that you want!" That is the only way to do it cause, the
Muskie will do everything to try to get off including doing a high flying Gene Kelly which
happed to me at fat N.W. side of The Big P.! I didn't get that fish but, know it's exact spot!
How has Okachee been to ya lately...muskie wise? Use to go there frequently in the fall. Haven't been in a few years, plan on returning this fall though. Is that resturant/bar in the launch channel still open?
