I have used the daiwa LC47 for the last few years. I fish in some really cold conditions and have never had an issue.

I have a couple Okuma convectors and they seem to be made very well. I have had no problems with them. You can get them for around $80 or $99 with a few different rod options at cabelas

I have 5 of Okuma convectors 30 line counters they are great I have had no issues with them a friend of mine that runs a charter has the 30's and 45's for his boat its hard to beat the convector for the $$$ but that is just my opinion

On the Chain we catch fish all the way to Ice up casting. You just need to slow it way down, Gliders like HellHounds and Phantons that you can run deeper at a really slow pace are key and soft plastics like dogs and tubes realy work well. Right now…
