another year gone!

Can't believe another season is over, it really does go by fast, and again I notice that I am not on here much during the season, I guess thats a good thing, because I am on the water just about every day, but still I would like to keep up on it. My season was a good one, probably the best I have ever had for average size fish. Alot of fish in the mid 40's from the Chippewa flowage this year. Also had a good year fishing on the St. Louis River. Got two really nice tigers in the boat, a 47 incher… Continue

fishing season over already!!

Wow, can't believe that fishing season is already over! Seems like it just started the other week! it was a good season, numbers of legal muskies were down this year, but the average size was way up, actually it was the best year I ever had for average size of the fish we caught. I feel the real reason was because of the way I fished this year, really focused on targeting big muskies all season, and fishing differently than most. Also was a great year for big walleye's which are always fun too.… Continue

Waiting for ice out!

Its mid april here, and we just got hit with a snow storm that dumped about 5 inches of wet heavy snow on us, and the lakes still have about 30 inches of ice. usually the lakes are opened up by now, I am hoping that they are open by the time walleye season opens in just over 2 weeks!!! Pray for warm weather!!! Cabin Fever is awefull right now!!

Wow...what a cool Milw. Muskie Expo! I saw people from the South side that I didn't
see in a long time! It is great as a big lure show gets a person thinking, "Yes! Muskie
fishing season is coming!" Also, I met new people there...Really something nice
to do in this off season-go to Milw. Muskie Expo!

What I observed about "The Creepenstein" is it is a lg. bait. Nothing is too lg.
for a Muskie to hit! I believe I can buy one at Smokey's West! Those guys are the best people! Wow, that lure has everything! It should be field tested at my secret
test bay. There are lg. fish in there! I lured a 45" Pike to boat. It came after my
partner's Gill on canepole. Fish was as mean as a Muskie!

Yes! to Creepenstein, The guys at Smokey's thoroughly like that lure! Wow, it
would be great to field test it...off of Pete's Bar. I have never field tested that one yet! Cool lure. Green, (in general), has also been very hot color for me at Pewaukee
for summer bite! I have a bunch of bite-proof BTLB Lures. Dark blk. w/gold glitter
head will catch big Muskie! The Muskie can clearly see detail even if it is something slightly extra that I put on lures.

Tanner Wildes...
A comment that I had about my BTR WND MNS is,* "Wow, do the Muskies ever
hit them hard!" I have the topwater lures in ever color...One thing that I did is, the (sinking) BTR WND MNS were made in every size possible. I have every old, old, Heddon brochure... (right up to when lures were no longer made)...In it is
says,"Sometimes the Muskie stays just under the surface of the water!" That really is a true statement! And yes! it is true! I am related to those famous lure
guys from S.W. Lower Michigan! Luke I am your father! (Not a fish story!)...

Wow! Yes! I have heard of you before! I simply love the topwater fishing
on Eastern side of *Chip Flowage 10.5 miles from Big Muskie Resort. I'll
have to get a Pewaukee/Okauchee Muskies after pre-spawn rest pnotos
on line...I tried today, but don't have right CD with me...I'll return Wed.
Gordy of Smokey's West has some cool Muskie photos of mine...I wish
I didn't have to work today...

*I*Excellent fishing there!

Tanner, We met two years ago at the Harper Musky Show, and I bought a couple of your lures. I haven't been up North the past two years because my buddies all canceled each time because of the economy. I am very familiar with the Winter area. I fished Lake Winter in the '70s and almost bought a lot on the Lake in '86. Kicking myself in the pants every year on that one! Hope to see you at January's show!

Hey tanner its Ryan tommys friend. I was out fishen this weekend out on bone lake. The water was farly clear and i was fishen with my dad and i was in the front throughen an he was in the back. I looked over the oppesite side of the boat and there was a muskie about 45 in range just chillen out there. He had a big hole in his back. An i thought What would have done that. It was a speer hole for the indians that were out there this winter and killed all those fish.
